“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens,” Ecclesiastes 3:1

We look at the timings in our life in terms of hours, weeks, months and years but God’s timing is in seasons, appointed times and set times. It can be extremely frustrating at times when we hate the season we’re in and we want the season to change sooner rather than later (See the blog I wrote Silent Frustrations). We look at our lives and think “I should been further along by now.” Let me help God out!!

There is a temptation to be discouraged and bored of waiting and to run ahead of God and make things happen in our own strength. It is always a waste of time because it never works out and there is never any peace (See the blog I wrote I Should of Waited).

Every season we are in is designed to prepare us for the next one. We need to identify the season that we’re in and embrace it. The change of our seasons is out of our hands, so if we’re in our current season there must be something that God wants us to learn. God wants us to have humility, to trust him and for us to know that: “He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning,” Daniel 2:21.

God is faithful and knows exactly what we need and sees the beginning, middle and the end that we can’t see. There is knowledge and godly wisdom that needs to be gained in our current season to equip and prepare us for the next one.

When our seasons change, it ultimately brings glory to God. We need to be fully equipped and prepared spiritually, emotionally and physically to be able to handle the next season so we do not destroy our lives or the lives of other people. God loves us to much to give us something that we are not fully prepared to receive. When I was in my late 20’s and I was praying about my future husband the Holy Spirit said clearly: “I need to make sure you can be trusted with one of my sons.” WOW!!! I had to go to be fully prepared before he could bring him into my life.

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil,” Ephesians 5:16-17.

This scripture changed my life!! Studying Ephesians 5:16-17 changed my perspective of my season of singleness.  It wasn’t a punishment for bad behavior and there wasn’t anything wrong with me. In fact, the season was an opportunity!!!  I had the opportunity to sort my life out. It was a wonderful time to be totally healed from past bad decisions, seek wholeness and pursue my purpose and to pursue Christ with my whole heart.

As soon I got that revelation, I embraced the season I was in and really enjoyed my season of singleness. I loved it!!! The season of singleness was designed for me to grow and mature spiritually so that I learnt to depend on God as my source. When I was fully prepared and developed God changed my season in his perfect timing. The blog with all the details is coming soon!!!

A few years ago, when my Dad was still alive, fit and healthy I’d go to the gym on a Saturday and then go to my parents to do some chores and hang out. I’d sit in their living room and my Dad sat in his chair looking out the window not saying much as usual. He was a man of few words, when he did speak he spoke with wisdom. I remember saying to my Dad. “I’m 31, I should be married by now.” My Dad, who had been married for over 35 years at that point was unfazed by the whole thing and couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about. He said: “It’s not your time yet, when it’s your time it will happen.” End of conversation as far as he was concerned.

When the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen,” Isiah 60:22

I encourage you to REST. Stop worrying about when you’re season will change and embrace it. PRAY, plan and prepare for the next one by FAITH (See the blog I wrote Prayer Changes Things). Rest in God’s word and rest in his promises and trust God’s timing. Speak LIFE and prophecy what you want to see in your life that is based on the Word of God (See the blog I wrote Speak It).

Your current season is a gift from God and is an opportunity, so make the most of it because your season will change and it will be sooner than you think. It’s an amazing opportunity to take our eyes of ourselves and use our God given gifts, talents and abilities to be a blessing to other people. When you take care of God’s business he will take care of yours and what you make happen for other people God will make happen for you.

“I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing,” Ezekiel 34:26. Your due season is coming!!! Prepare for your showers of blessing.

Your current circumstance is temporary. It will change!!! Your season of testimony is on the way.

God is faithful
